February 09 Valentine's Day Advice For Men Who Hate ShoppingMen, we know it is not easy buying a gift for Valentine's Day. You don't know what to buy and aren't sure about the right size or style. Don't you wish you could take a woman with you when picking out that special present? Look no further. I'm here to help with a few tips and pointers to guide you toward buying the perfect gift for Valentine's Day. 1. Remember that this is an opportunity to tell her you care. Valentine's Day is just one more opportunity to tell her how you feel about her. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get something she'll love. Just be romantic and thoughtful. A beautiful bouquet of flowers, while seemingly unoriginal, is always sure to please. Women love getting flowers, especially when coupled with a gift that tells her you remember something special about your relationship. For example, is there a picture of the two of you that she loves? Frame it and give it to her. When was the last time that you went back to the restaurant you took her to on your first date? Why not go and recreate the evening. Just knowing that you remember these details and that you care enough to memorialize them is a gift in and of itself. 2. Buy her something she wants but wouldn't buy for herself. There are some items that we would love to have but can't justify buying for ourselves because the item is too expensive or just seems frivolous. However, that doesn't mean YOU can't buy it for us! Has she been stressed at work or taking care of the kids? Why not get her a massage or a day at the spa to help her relax. Or how about buying her a really soft pair of shearling-lined bedroom slippers or super comfortable pajamas? A few more items we really like, but might not buy for ourselves include: - a beautiful sterling picture frame - pair of small diamond "huggie" earrings - a totally impractical pair of designer shoes or a designer handbag (for a real splurge) - any other item she's been eyeing or talking about a lot, but hasn't purchased 3. Remember that a gift doesn't have to be something she wears Sometimes the gifts we love most are those that beautify our home or further a hobby or interest we have. Does she love to cook? Why not get enroll her in a cooking class. Better yet, why not bring in a personal chef to cook a meal for the two of you. A woman who loves photography might enjoy a beautiful coffee table book by a famous photographer she admires or two tickets to a photography exhibit at the Art Museum. Think outside the box and look to her interests. There are plenty of original and interesting gifts you can buy that won't invoke the wrong size, wrong style dilemma. 4. Be spontaneous Do not underestimate the power of spontaneity. Is there a restaurant she's been wanting to try, a show she's been wanting to see or a bed and breakfast she's been wanting to go to? Surprise her with a night out or a weekend away. You'll get a lot of points for your thoughtfulness, forethought, and attention to detail. 5. Unless you know what scent she likes, avoid perfume I honestly think that perfume, and other scented items, might be among the most difficult gifts to buy and the ones that are most fraught with the potential for error. Everyone reacts differently to different scents and if you don't know what kind of scent your woman likes (sweet, spicy, flowery, fruity, etc), you might be walking into a land mine trying to buy perfume. The same advice holds true for scented candles and reed diffusers. We love all of these items, but before embarking, please look at her perfume bottles and candles and give them a smell. Try and stay in that same aroma range. You don't want to buy a very sweet smelling perfume or candle for someone who prefers a more musky scent. 6. If buying lingerie remember that she needs to feel good about herself in it Lingerie spans the gamut. Remember that this is supposed to be a gift for her - not for you (although you will benefit as well). So make sure and buy her something that she'll love and feel comfortable and sexy in. This requires taking her body shape and personal style into consideration. Men, at the end of the day, you know your woman best. Incredible Value and Performance
The Samsung LN46A550 was at the top of our list for quite some time while we researched the quality and value of Flat Panel LCDs that were in the 42 - 46 inch range. While other TVs may have done slightly better in terms of price, the quality of Samsung televisions have surpassed even Sony in recent years as they consistently rank as one of the top brands. This TV is no different.
We were not in need of all the bells and whistles that are advertised on the later models of the Samsungs, such as the 120Hz refresh rate. This feature may smooth out intense sports action but as the human eye can only process a 60Hz refresh rate, the 120Hz will often tire your eyes out after viewing too long (this is why looking at an LCD monitor for a computer too long tires your eyes out).
As for its performance, we could not be happier. The Dark Night on Blu-ray played via a PS3 hooked up with HDMI 6FT / 2M Super High Resolution Male to Male Cable by Eforcity looked absolutely stunning. The 1080p resolution on this TV is incredible. People may complain about artifacts and pixelation while watching TV but that issue (which I have experienced) is not the TV itself. The fact that it can play Blu-ray movies at full 1080p resolution flawlessly indicates that the problem lies with the video source. The free HD channels I get as a Time Warner subscriber in NYC look amazing, but they do get a bit pixely sometimes during intense camera movement and action. This is also added to by the fact that even channels that are supposedly broadcasting in HD are using compression techniques that lower the quality on the subscriber's end. Unfortunately there is nothing to be done about it but wait for HD to become the standard. Everything still looks great and I do not regret this purchase in the slightest. Even the sound quality surprised me (it may not be 5.1 surround but it was better than I expected after reading people's reviews here).
Excellent TV
This TV is great, Ive had it for a month and a half with no problems whatsoever. The color/tone was perfect straight out of the box for me. It is also extremely quiet and doesnt give off any heat (I have it in a very small room and the temperature in there and the rest of the house is the same). I also really like the matte finish of the screen. This tv sits directly across the room from a window where the glare was tterrible with a normal tv but it is significantly reduced with this one. That is one way this tv is actually better than the A650, which has a glossy reflective screen.
I use it for over-the-air HD tv which looks great (if you have a strong signal on your antenna) and blu-ray movies, but the thing i use it for most is my Playstation 3. These two were made for eachother! The games look stunning even though most of them are only 720p. This TV doesnt have the 120Hz refresh rate like the A650 (which Ive seen because my parents have the A650). The 120hz refresh rate is nice for nature programs, animated movies, and sports but I actually do not like it for live action movies and tv shows. I feel like it looks like you're on the film set, which sounds good, but it really makes it look fake to me for some reason. Videogames currently only output at 60Hz so the 120Hz refresh rate makes no difference for them.
Overall I am extremely happy with this TV and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice HDtv, especially if your budget is a little tight.
Great hdtv
Great tv for a reasonable price. Excellent picture quality. We have a surround sound system and it truly is like being at the movies.

Great little TV
First I bought the AOC Envision Series LCD HDTV from Costco. It had
an acceptable picture from the air antenna and bad picture from
satellite and from a DVD player. If I tuned the TV (color, brightness)
for one input, the other input's pictures were bad. I had to go through
the "find channels" process several times, and some channels were not
found. After several hours of tuning and set-up it became obvious that
the pictire quality was not acceptable and I returned the TV.
I had none of these promlems with the Samsung LN 19A450 LCD HDTV,
which I bought from Amazon. It arrived within days, despite the holiday
season. Set-up was easy and quick. Actually, the TV did its own set-up,
found all channels, etc., and I had a great picture with all inputs.
The only thing I adjusted was the sound equalizer, boosting the low and
mid ranges. I bought the TV for my office and could hook it up to my
sound system, but I find the sound acceptable.
Amazon also gets 5 stars for the entire experience.
Samsung ln19A450 
I purchased this TV for kitchen counter-top use with a roof-top
over-the-air antenna. The picture quality is very good for the specs
and the digital tuner pulls in all the DTV stations it should receive
in my location.
The only negative is the single HDMI port as I have an upscaling
DVD player and Vudu box both attached to this unit. Side inputs (even
composite video) would be nice as I occasionally want to attach a
digital video camera so the kids can watch their own videos.
Great unit for kitchen
We had purchased a Samsung 22 for our living room and I liked it so
well, I bought this 19 inch unit to fit on the kitchen countertop. I
like the compact design with the speakers coming out the bottom. Nice
to have 2 TV sets with the same style remote!
